New at the Library: AtoZdatabases

Our librarians answer questions every day from residents on a variety of topics:

  • Job hunting
  • Starting a business
  • Building a mailing list
  • Researching a healthcare professional
  • Finding a long-lost relative

Now the Westfield Washington Public Library (WWPL) has a powerful new tool to help answer all types of questions.

We’re excited to announce that AtoZdatabases is now available free with your library card, right from our website. If you’ve ever wished you had access to the same research tools that professional marketers, recruiters, and small business owners use, this is it.

AtoZdatabases

What Is AtoZdatabases?

AtoZdatabases is a massive online directory covering millions of U.S. businesses and residents, built from sources like government filings, public records, and directory assistance data. In practical terms, that means you can search:

  • Business listings — company names, industries, employee counts, sales estimates, and key executives
  • Residential records — people, addresses, and phone numbers, useful for reconnecting with friends or family or researching a neighborhood
  • Current job openings, updated in real time
  • Healthcare provider listings, searchable by specialty and location
  • New homeowner and new business data, updated weekly

Who Is This For?

Job seekers can use AtoZdatabases to identify companies in a target industry, find hiring manager contacts, and browse current openings — a great complement to traditional job boards.

Entrepreneurs and small business owners can research competitors, scope out potential customers in a specific area, or build a list of local business prospects before a big sales push.

Nonprofits and community groups can pull mailing lists for outreach campaigns or identify potential partners and donors nearby.

Genealogists and family historians can use the residential database to help track down relatives or verify old addresses.

Students and researchers can use the business and demographic data for market research projects, papers, or class assignments.
