WWPL Summer Reading Program Coming Soon

“Color Our World” is set to launch on June 1, and registration is now open.

It’s still the month of May, but we are already looking forward to June 1 and the kick-off of our 2025 Summer Reading Program! Registration is now open for “Color Our World,” our 8-week Summer Reading Program, running from June 1 – July 31.

Open to all ages, participants can register now by visiting wwpl.beanstack.org, or by using the Beanstack app on their mobile device, and then begin logging reading minutes on June 1. The program is completed after 40 hours of reading (or listening), and incentive prizes will be distributed to readers throughout the 8-week program, as they reach specific milestones.

Generous community sponsors have donated a wide variety of items for drawing prizes, and additional financial support for the program has come from The Westfield Library Foundation and The Friends of the Westfield Library. We greatly appreciate their support! Our community sponsors are listed on the Beanstack page, so be sure to take a look at the list.

The summer calendar is packed with programs and special events, beginning with Jason Kollum, a stilt walker, juggler and balloon artist, who will entertain us on Monday morning, June 2. The Rope Warrior, David Fisher, will present a Hobby Horsing USA event on Tuesday, June 3, and Magician Daniel Lusk will perform two magic shows on Wednesday, June 4. Feller Express will be at the library with their life-sized dinosaurs, ready to greet our patrons, on Friday, June 6. Children’s author, Kelly Lattal, will be here for a special Story Time on Wednesday, June 10, and our regular Story Time programs will also continue throughout the summer months. Craft programs and Makerspace projects are planned for all ages, along with poetry workshops, family movies, science programs, teen scavenger hunts, and much more. Find a complete list of programs by visiting tinyurl.com/WWPLevents or peruse the Summer OWWN Guide. Find both of these on our website under the News & Events tab.

Last summer’s reading program coincided with the grand opening of our new library building, and we had 3,599 readers participate. We anticipate even more this summer and look forward to tallying up millions of minutes read by our Westfield community. Sign up now for Color Our World and let’s read together this summer. And be sure to come by the library and join the fun here, as well! We’d love to see you.
