Westfield Washington Public Library
2024 Year in Review

Check out our amazing growth and progress in 2024!

Our new library building is our most visible manifestation of change and progress, but we’d also like to highlight what’s been happening within our new walls. With 11,270 additional square feet in the new building (now totaling 43,500 square feet) we are using all of it to serve Westfield Washington Township’s ever-growing population, currently estimated at 49,262.

Our circulation rose by 15% in 2024, with 545,691 total items circulated. We have 95,312 physical items available for checkout from our own library building, and over 8 million additional items are available from 130+ other Evergreen libraries.

We recorded 210,684 visits to our library, an increase of 36% from the previous year. Our dedicated staff worked a total of 43,368 hours in 2024. The library is open 57 hours per week, and in 2024 our building was open for 2,679 total hours.

With a full calendar offering over 1,100 programs for children, teens and adults, we welcomed 26,195 program attendees in 2024. Summer was an especially busy time, with 3,600 readers enrolled in our Summer Reading Program. We kept track of how many minutes our participants read during the two-month Summer Reading Program, and we were proud to announce a total of 3,343,952 minutes read in June and July!

We never stop planning for the future and expect more innovation, growth and success in 2025. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement!
