Adult Library of Things is Here!

Library unveils new Library of Things for Adults.

The Westfield Washington Public Library is celebrating an incredible 123rd birthday gift, thanks to the generosity of The Westfield Library Foundation. On Tuesday, April 15, we unveiled our extensive new Adult Library of Things, a broad collection of tools, musical instruments, kitchen appliances, sports equipment and more, all ready to be checked out by our adult patrons!

Libraries are obviously more than just book collections these days, and our varied and extensive Library of Things is proof of that. The collection encourages new hobbies, helps with household tasks and invites creative exploration. The items provide an ideal way to borrow and try out new tools and equipment without having to make a personal financial investment. Check something out, take it home and use it, and then return it for someone else to use.

Located on the second floor of the library in a large section of shelves near the nonfiction books, patrons may browse the adult collection in person or online. Visit this link to view both the adult and children’s Library of Things collections: https://westfield.evergreenindiana.org/?browseCategory=westfield_lot

Adult library cardholders are able to check out one item at a time from the Library of Things, for one week.

As Erin Downey, the Executive Director of the Westfield Library Foundation recently said, “This collection will allow our neighbors to discover new hobbies, try out new tools, and learn in a way that fits their lifestyle. What a fun way to celebrate the library and all its patrons.”

Community members are invited to help us grow the Adult Library of Things by purchasing a gift from WWPL’s Amazon Wish List at this link. Thank you!
