New Teen Library of Things Offers New Experiences
Teens have diverse interests but often limited budgets. The Teen Library of Things at the Westfield Washington Public Library (WWPL) provides access to games, technology, educational resources, and creative tools—all available at no cost with a library card.
Located in the Teen Department on the second floor, the Teen Library of Things is the newest addition to WWPL’s popular Library of Things collections. Designed specifically for teens and tweens, the collection encourages exploration, creativity, and lifelong learning through hands-on experiences.
Explore New Interests
The growing collection offers a variety of kits and resources that allow teens to explore hobbies, develop practical skills, and discover new interests without purchasing specialized equipment.

From creative arts and gaming to technology and college preparation, the Teen Library of Things supports a wide range of interests while making learning both accessible and engaging.
“Our goal was to create a collection that reflects the interests of today’s teens while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and lifelong learning,” said Mindi Glenn, WWPL Teen Room Supervisor. “We hope every teen can find something that inspires them to try something new without having to purchase the materials themselves.”
Learn Beyond the Classroom
The Teen Library of Things is designed to extend learning beyond school by providing opportunities for exploration and personal growth. Whether developing artistic skills, preparing for college entrance exams, learning new technology, or hosting a game night with friends, the collection encourages hands-on learning and skill development in a fun and accessible way.

The Teen Library of Things was made possible through the generous support of the Westfield Library Foundation, whose commitment to expanding educational opportunities continues to bring innovative resources to the community.
“We’re excited to help bring the Teen Library of Things to life and make these hands-on learning opportunities available to teens in our community,” said Erin Downey, Executive Director of the Westfield Library Foundation.
Check Out a Kit
The Teen Library of Things is available to browse in person or through the library’s online catalog. Teen library cardholders may check out one kit at a time for up to one week.
As the collection continues to grow, the Teen Library of Things will provide even more opportunities for teens to explore new interests, build practical skills, and discover lifelong hobbies—all with the resources available through the Westfield Washington Public Library.
