Back-to-School Success Starts at the WWPL

As summer winds down and backpacks come back out, the Westfield Washington Public Library (WWPL) is ready to help students of every age have a successful school year. Whether your child attends a traditional school or is homeschooled, WWPL offers free resources, programs, and spaces designed to support learning all year long.

Homework Help Starts Here

Make it a habit to stop at WWPL after school. The library provides a welcoming environment where students can concentrate, complete assignments, and access reliable research materials.

If you’re looking for a distraction-free place to study with classmates, we have five study rooms (first come, first serve) for group projects, tutoring sessions, or exam preparation. Plus, free high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the library, making it easy to work on online assignments or connect with virtual classrooms.

Trusted Online Learning Resources

Students and parents know that not everything online is accurate. That’s why your library provides free access to trusted educational databases and learning tools.

• Educate Station offers ready-to-use lesson plans, worksheets, and hands-on activities created by experienced educators for students learning at home or in the classroom.
• Explora for Schools helps students in grades K–12 find reliable articles, research materials, and reference content for homework and classroom projects. Search by grade level to find age-appropriate resources. (Available inside the library.)
• PebbleGo introduces preschool through third-grade learners to research with engaging articles, videos, games, and read-aloud features that make learning fun.
• LearningExpress Library provides practice tests for the GED, SAT, ACT, career certifications, computer skills, citizenship preparation, and more. It’s an excellent resource for high school students planning their next steps. (Available inside the library.)
• Learn More Indiana connects students and families with college planning tools, financial aid information, and career exploration resources.

Resources for Homeschool Families

WWPL proudly supports the growing homeschool community with resources that make planning engaging lessons easier than ever. Kim Wright is our Homeschool Liaison Librarian and is happy to help connect families to the appropriate resources.

Browse our extensive collection of curriculum supplements, instructional DVDs, foreign language software, arts and crafts materials, and educational books. Our popular STEAM to Go! Kits in our Children’s Library of Things feature hands-on learning tools like microscopes, prepared slides, binoculars for birdwatching, coding activities, engineering challenges, and other science, technology, engineering, art, and math experiences that encourage curiosity and critical thinking.

We have a collection of physical materials called the Juvenile Learning Center that contains homeschool curricula and resources on how to teach children subjects such as language, math, history, etc.

Homeschool families can also participate in a variety of virtual and in-person classroom experiences throughout the year, along with clubs and extracurricular opportunities that help students learn, create, and connect with others.

The Fall 2026 Homeschool Class Schedule is updated for the upcoming semester. Spanning all grades, the class offerings include arts, language arts, social studies, STEM, world languages, and study hall.
